About DCR

This new website is the result of an idea I had a few months ago. After being pulled over by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer for the third time in a month, I realized that fighting traffic charges is practically impossible even if you did nothing wrong. I am profiled because of the car I drive. I drive a 94 Camaro and I've was pulled over for "speeding" when I tried to go around a city gravel truck that was losing rocks (no one else was pulled over that went around the truck). I've also been pulled over for a "seat belt check" when the officer could clearly see that I was wearing my seatbelt.

To test my theory that I was profiled, I took a red windshield chalk marker and wrote "Cop Magnet" on the back of my car. Cops would still get behind me, but after they read my rear windshield they went on about their own business.

In court, it is just your word against the officer's word. You are also dealing with a judge that deals with people "just like you" every day. What does that mean to us? It means that the judge doesn't always know who is telling the truth and who doesn't. Cops are supposed to tell the truth. Some judges just like to do things the easy way. With the multitude of cases in the judicial system, sometimes it can be hard to blame them...but then again - where's justice when we need it?

This website is for those of us who are profiled or pulled over by the police or highway patrol for bogus reasons. This is not a forum to complain for a legitimate traffic ticket. We are exercising our First Amendment right to free speech. Perhaps when more people stand up to the officers that lack integrity, change will come.
